Plexus is one of the trendiest diet network marketing companies

Plexus Worldwide is a multi-level marketing company in the health and diet industry most famous for Plexus Slim.

In 2011, the company launched its flagship products: Plexus Slim and Accelerator, jumpstarting the company’s growth to its current state. Plexus states that its core values are to be trustworthy, honest, reliable, and responsible, believing those values are the backbone of everything the company does.

The growth of Plexus over the last half-decade is quite impressive and undoubtedly a good sign for the company’s long-term outlook.

However, the relatively young age of the company is one of the many reasons to give pause before anointing Plexus as a company with a secure future.

Sign-Up Cost: $34.95

Global Revenue: $310 million

The Good: Good commission rates; products are generally safe for most consumers.

The Bad: Poor rating from Better Business Bureau; high volume of complaints; auto-program required; issues with FDA.

Google Trends

Products

As previously stated, Plexus’ flagship products are Plexus Slim, a powder mix that’s meant to be consumed before meals, and Accelerator, a dietary supplement. The company states that consuming the products in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise helps with weight management. Plexus offers several other health and dietary products, including the following:

  • Plexus Boost – An alternative to Accelerator to be used in conjunction with Plexus Slim.
  • MegaX – Supplement containing several omega fatty acids.
  • XFactor – A multivitamin and antioxidant supplement.
  • Bio Cleanse – A magnesium supplement.
  • Plexus Block – Absorbs starches and sugars to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels.
  • Breast Chek Kit – Kit for monthly self-breast exams.
  • Plexus Body Cream
  • Plexus Nerve – Combination of vitamins and minerals to support nervous system health.
  • Plexus Ease – Available in both a cream and capsules to provide temporary relief from aches and pains.

Opportunity

Plexus Worldwide allows consumers of its products to join the company in two ways.

The signup fee of $34.95 allows makes one an Associate, which allows distributors to buy products at wholesale cost, but does not enable them to receive any commissions or bonuses. For an additional product package for either $99 or $199, you are able to become an Ambassador, enabling you sign up other distributors, sell to customers, and earn income from Plexus. Ambassadors have 11 ways to earn income:

  • Personal Volume and Retail Profit
  • Fast Start Achievement Bonus
  • Preferred Customer Program
  • Business Building Bonus
  • Emerald Pool Bonus
  • Sapphire Bonus
  • Plexus Points
  • Personal Volume Override Commission
  • Achievement Bonus
  • Diamond Pool Bonus
  • Diamond Re-Entry Position

The Good

A full explanation of the Plexus compensation plan is available on the company’s website, but overall the plan is quite generous to those who qualify as Ambassadors. As long as Ambassadors meet all of the company’s base requirements and expectations, they will receive 50% commission on all sales, which is on the high end for any multi-level marketing firm. Plexus also gives its Ambassadors their own website to help them run their business. There are also discounts available for Preferred Customers and generous bonuses for those who sponsor new Ambassadors, giving Plexus distributors plenty of ways to make money.

Plexus also offers products that are safe and effective. The company’s flagship products don’t contain caffeine, which isn’t always the case with dietary products. They have also been proven to be safe for those with diabetes, which again is not a given with similar products. Moreover, the way Plexus has been able to expand its product line beyond its flagship products but not stray beyond the health and diet niche is a sign that the company is dedicated to focusing on one thing and doing that as well as possible, which adds some credibility to its product line.

The Bad

Unfortunately, Plexus has had some issues with the FDA with regard to its product line. There has been no clinical research performed on any of the company’s products, and Plexus has stated publically that there never will be.

The FDA does not regulate dietary supplements like those sold by Plexus, so the company is not obligated to gain FDA approval. Nevertheless, the FDA issuing a warning that a few of the company’s products are “not generally recognized as safe and effective” is something to be concerned about. In the past, the FDA has accused Plexus of making false claims on its website. The company has made the proper corrections, but the fact that they had to in the first place is at least a little troubling.

Not only has Plexus had issues with the FDA, but they also don’t seem to have a great relationship with the Better Business Bureau either. The BBB has not accredited Plexus and has given them a C grade.

The biggest reason for the mediocre grade is a large volume of complaints. To date, there have been over 600 complaints filed against Plexus, with over half of them being related to problems with the company’s products or services. The BBB admits that the company has done well to respond to these complaints, but it also says that Plexus has failed to fix the underlying cause for the vast number of complaints, which calls into question the integrity of the company.

One final issue worth mentioning is the list of requirements distributors must meet in order to be eligible for payment. Like other MLM companies, there is an auto-ship program that distributors must sign up for in order to be eligible for commissions and bonuses, which can make it difficult for someone who has only a casual interest in the business to join Plexus as an Ambassador. On top of that, the cost to qualify as an Ambassador in addition to the $34.95 signup cost can be a turnoff for some potential distributors.

Recap

Outside of an enticing compensation plan, there’s not all that much to like about Plexus. Of course, if you don’t mind the startup costs or the auto-ship program, the potential to make money for someone who’s dedicated to selling the company’s products is certainly there, which can make Plexus an intriguing MLM option.

However, one would be wise to take a closer look at the company’s dealings with the FDA, as well as the high volume of complaints filed through the Better Business Bureau. These are both red flags that relate to both the company’s products and the service it provides to its customers. If you’re satisfied with what you find with regard to those less-than-ideal circumstances, Plexus is certainly a promising multi-level marketing company for someone willing to take a moderate risk.

Products

Although there is only one product patented by the company, the Juice Plus+ nutrient formula, this formula is used in a wide variety of products:

  • Capsules
  • Chewables
  • Nutrition bars
  • Drink powder

Four different chewable products are sold by Juice Plus+. The Orchard and Garden Blend Chewable is for adults with both varieties in the order, Garden Blend and Orchard Blend. One order supplies a month’s worth of bars.

If you prefer to drink your nutrients, Juice Plus+ has just the thing. The nutrient rich drink mix can be used before or after workouts, as a breakfast, or a snack. The powder is available in Dutch Chocolate or French Vanilla flavors. You can even get a combo pack with both flavors. Order a box of single serve packets for the office or traveling.

Opportunity

Juice Plus+ offers a commission and bonus based return for their sales associates. There can be a great business in becoming a marketer for Juice Plus+ when you use their business model to promote and sell their nutrient products. Through quality customer support, a straight-forward ordering process, and a rewarding payout, you can build a successful business around the Juice Plus+ line.

The company has set up a business model with Franchising, Direct Sales, Network Marketing, and Corporate America as its four cornerstones. With the right training and support from a team of marketers, you can grow the business in little time and not a lot of risk. In addition, you make your own schedule at your own pace.

The Good

There are a few great things about Juice Plus+ for both employees and consumers.

First of all, the company is extremely affordable to join as a sales distributor especially when comparing to other MLM companies. The $50 dollar startup fee is nothing in the MLM world. This makes becoming a distributor very low risk.

Second, the food is made from certified fresh ingredients that pass through many quality control check points before entering the products. The dehydration process is extremely safe for the powder products and the special fiber blend is guaranteed to be natural.

The machinery and factories where the products are made, pass all the regulations placed by the NSF International’s Good Manufacturing Practices program and Product and Ingredient Certification programs.

The company uses North American farms that they individually inspected to ensure quality from the planting all the way to the picking (especially how the farmers control the weeds and pests).

Finally, the company sponsors a program that offers children of consumers a free product from the line. They have such faith in their products that they are willing to give free trials to the little ones.

Their BBB rating is an A+ with a Glass Door rating of 4.5 stars from both current and former employees. Consumers have given it a 5 out of 5 for customer support.

The Bad

As with every company, there have been a few hiccups along the way. There have been complaints.

There have been 21 complaints filed with the BBB over the last three years and seven of those have been resolved.

Chemotherapy patients are to avoid the products at all costs because of the high level of antioxidants and how that effects the chemo treatments.

There was bad media when O.J. Simpson, as spokesman, claimed to be arthritis-free from using the Juice Plus+ products and then his lawyers provided medical records that showed his arthritis was still there and prevented him from being able to perform the murders. The promotional video has not been seen since.

Recap

Juice Plus+ produces quite a product line with some nutritional value.

Are there empty promises to some of their claims? Perhaps.

Have there been a few flaws in their products along the way? Of course.

But 46+ years of business and an $11 billion global revenue proves they have something great going.

Amway is still probably the most popular network marketing company

Amway is probably the most popular multi-level marketing company in the world.

It was founded in 1959 and sells a wide variety of products, and pretty much sells everything.

The outlook of the company is promising. Amway is a known brand with a proven track record. There has been a slight decline in sales in recent years, but its products remain popular and the company still brings in billions in revenue each year, so it’s unlikely to disappear anytime soon.

Sign-up cost: $62

Global revenue: $47 billion

The Good: Large and diverse product line; low start up cost; proven track record; offers 100% satisfaction guarantee.

The bad: Not immune to lawsuits; has faced pyramid scheme allegations; low retention rates.

Google Trends

Products

Amway offers customers a wide array of products. There are over a hundred products, most of which fall into one of four categories:

  • Nutrition
  • Beauty
  • Bath & Body
  • At Home

Amway’s nutrition products include dozens of vitamins and supplements under the Nutrilite brand. There are also a wide variety of products geared towards weight management, as well as protein bars, protein shakes, energy drinks, and more.

Amway’s beauty collection includes dozens of products geared towards skin care, including moisturizers, cleansers, serums, and more. There is also a substantial line of makeup products.

Bath & Body products offered by Amway include those for hair care, body care, and oral care.

The At Home line of products from Amway includes cookware, air filters, water purifiers, dish detergent, laundry detergent, disinfectants, and more.

Opportunity

Amway has succeeded throughout much of its history because of the work of its distributors selling its products. They offer anyone who’s willing to work the opportunity to start their own business selling their products. Three ways to make money through Amway are:

  • Retail margin
  • Monthly bonuses
  • Growth incentives

One can join Amway is a distributor for a start up fee of $62, which has a money-back guarantee within 90 days. This fee supplies the distributor with a Getting Started Guide, catalogs of the company’s products, and information on award programs. The Starter Kit the company provides for new distributors also comes with training materials.

Distributors are free to set their own prices on the products they sell, so they can decide how much profit they want to make on something, giving them plenty of freedom and flexibility when it comes to selling to customers. A distributor’s monthly bonus comes as a result of both his or her sales, as well as the sales of any distributors they’ve sponsored, providing incentive to bring others on board.

The Good

Obviously, there’s a lot to like about a company like Amway that has a great track record and loads of financial success. It starts with its rather large and diverse product line. The quality and value of products from multi-level marketing firms can always be debated, but the range of products offered by Amway is impressive. Obviously, it can be difficult to keep everything straight or become an expert on every product, but the large product line gives distributors a great opportunity to offer nearly every potential customer something they like or need.

The low start up cost of starting your own business with Amway, as well as the 100% satisfaction and money-back guarantee the company offers, are more reasons to like Amway. Not only is $62 a reasonable start up cost compared to most other MLM companies, but distributors also get 90 days to test out a partnership with Amway. If it turns out to be the wrong fit or they are dissatisfied with the company’s training or support, the distributor can easily back out and get their start up fee back, significantly lowering the risk of getting involved with a multi-level marketing company.

The company’s impressive track record also speaks for itself. Not only has Amway amassed billions in revenue over more than 50 years in business, but the company has also received high ratings from the Better Business Bureau. Reviews from employees within the company have also been excellent and almost universally positive (1). Finally, Amway has several partnerships with high-profile companies, including Sony, Macy’s, and Microsoft, further adding to the company’s credibility.

The Bad

Of course, any company that has been in business as long as Amway is going to have some black marks on their record. There have been accusations throughout much of the company’s history that Amway is a pyramid scheme. The company has found a way to avoid being legally described as a pyramid scheme, but some have given it the title of “legal pyramid scheme.”

One huge red flag in the company’s history is a 2007 class-action lawsuit that alleged fraud and racketeering, among other accusations. The case was settled in 2010, with Amway agreeing to pay $34 million in cash and $22 million in products (2). Amway did not admit any wrongdoing by paying out the settlement, but has said changes have been made to the company as a result.

Finally, some have expressed concerns about the amount of distributors that actually make a significant amount of money through Amway. The company’s retention rate is said to be around 40%. This means most people will drop out after struggling to make a profit. Only a small percentage of Amway distributors are able to sell enough to make it their primary source of income, with most lucky to make a few extra dollars (3).

Recap

In terms of finding a multi-level marketing firm that’s trustworthy, it’d be difficult to find one better than Amway. Some of the accusations about it being a “legal pyramid scheme” can be a bit troubling, but reviews from within the company are positive, and it’s difficult to find many who feel ripped off by the company. For someone looking to give direct sales a try to see what happens, Amway is a credible, legitimate, and safe option.

However, one shouldn’t expect Amway to be a revolutionary experience that turns into a career.

That may happen for a few people, but the company already has so many distributors and the market for many of its products are so saturated that it may be difficult to develop a large client base, which is what’s necessary to make a significant amount of money with an MLM firm.

You can take a shot with Amway without assuming much risk, but you shouldn’t count on it to be the thing that delivers financial independence and wealth.

You can try the products yourself so that you can have complete confidence when you begin to market it to other individuals.

The Bad

This is a relatively new company that has gone through a series of management changes in the last few years that suggests a degree of instability. With that being said however, they really do seem to be solid in their present business objectives.

Recap

If you are considering starting up a new home based business for yourself and are interested in joining a MLM organization, then I think Nuriche Live might be a very lucrative opportunity to consider.

If you check out their website, you will find that it is clear, concise, and easy to navigate through.

They don’t seem to be hiding anything and actually portray themselves in an upfront and honest manner.

If you bother to do additional research, (which I strongly recommend you do), you will find that they have received many favorable reviews from both customers and employees alike.

Nuriche Live has a very strong corporate team that is committed to help you succeed should you decide to become one of their distributors. The only drawback that I can see is that you have to recruit 50+ members to start to make any serious income.

Continue to do your research, be diligent and view your options carefully. Only 5% of people that try to start a home based business are successful, are you one of them?

If you believe that you are, I would recommend that you give the people at Nuriche Live a shot. Only time will tell, but these guys definitely seem to be legit.

Lifeplus is one of the better anti-aging network marketing companies

Lifeplus is an MLM health and wellness company that offers a wide variety of nutritional supplement products.

The company’s founder and President, J. Robert Lemon, was once a pharmacist who owned several pharmacies in Florida.

Lemon somewhat paved the way for a new network marketing breed with Lifeplus in 1992 by redefining the current industry using a simplified program. He wanted to be sure that Nutraceutical products were available to average customers.

Sign-up Cost: $0 no sign-up fee required, simply purchase an item.

Global Revenue: $51.18 Million

The Good: Lifeplus has been in business for over 2 decades with their sales continuing to increase, as well as, a long list of products that keeps growing.

The Bad: Pricing for some of the items are a little higher than some nutritional supplement providers. The auto-ship program is rather undesirable to some people, causing them to decline any offers.

Google Trends:

Products

Lifeplus offers nutritional supplements, vitamins and minerals, as well as, skin care and dental products.

Nutritional Supplements

  • Overall Health
  • Targeted Nutrition
  • Weight Management
  • Nutrition Shakes
  • Vitamins & Minerals
  • Antioxidants
  • For Him, Her & Little Ones

The list of items is rather long, so whether you are in search of Vitamin C, anti-aging capsules or cardiovascular support, there is something for everyone and for almost everything.  The products are made with natural ingredients and have more to offer than you may find any of the local pharmacies.

Healthy Body

  • Body Care Products
  • Dental Health
  • Face Care
  • Relief & Recovery
  • Skin Nutrition

The products consist of items such as, Collodial Silver, Evening Primrose Oil, Moisturizing Creams, Serums, Gels and Lotions. The product list is large and contains natural ingredients to treat all of your skin care needs.

Opportunity

There is no sign-up fee required, you simply make your first purchase of any product to get you started. The system operates using the Referral Marketing Distribution method.

  • No start up fees.
  • No product stock to be stored.
  • No unit or door-to-door sales necessary.
  • Free to back out at any time.

The company’s compensation plan breaks down into 3 main parts.

The Leadership Bonuses – There are 4 rank levels within the company, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. The percentage of compensation you receive depends on your current ranking. 3% being the lowest and 12% being the highest.

Referral Bonuses – You earn bonuses from your personally referred associates sales. The more associates you refer that remain active members, the better and higher the pay out can become.

Leadership Development Bonuses – Help your team members move up in rank. When you have reached Diamond ranking and have 12 active legs with 15,000 – 25,000 International Points you get more bonuses. The company also offers something called a Dynamic Compression, this helps ensure that associates continue to receive a bonus, lets say an associate within your downline does not qualify for a bonus they take the points and compress them with other members to be sure you still have enough points to get the bonus you deserve.

The compensation plan is a bit smaller leaving less opportunity to make money. You have to be great at the referrals if you hope to achieve any success.

The Good

The business being owned and operated by a pharmacist adds some guarantee in the knowledge and know-how department. Lifeplus offers business kits called, Associate Kits, that allow the associates to strengthen the referral possibilities. You can get merchandise, business cards, literature and a website all to better promote the company.

The business has been running for over 2 decades and continues to generate a healthy revenue. More people are becoming health conscious which in turn is causing the customer count to rise. The product list has increased since the start of the business and it also continues to rise, with new items being introduced every so often.

Associates can purchase items at a discounted price adding another perk to the benefits list. Many of the associates use some of the products which allows them to share their honest opinion on the items to their future associates and team members.

The Bad

Referral marketing can be a little harder than direct selling or retail sales. You have to have the know how and be good at it. With only 3 parts to the company’s compensation plan it can be more difficult to generate an income. Without referrals there is no opportunity for you to grow in the business, and when you do get referrals they must maintain an active status in order for you to make money or advance in ranking.

The Lifeplus company has had one known lawsuit filed against them. The suit was filed by former associates, which does not look good on their record. The company lost the case and had to pay out $245,000 for counterclaims for breach of contract and conversion. The former associate was discharged from the company based on the fact that the team member who referred her breached his contract, causing the company to assume she was doing so as well.

Recap

The company’s length of time being up and running is over 2 decades. The company is well known and its revenue continues to climb as does its customer count. Becoming an associate is rather simple, although it can be complicated when trying to get referrals. Overall the company has been and remains successful at what it does.

J. Robert Lemon having a pharmaceutical background makes many of the customers and the associates feel more comfortable with the products they have to offer. The ingredients are all natural which is an added plus, as many people are looking for more natural ways of living. The company also has a strong core crew of leaders that stand behind and back the company.

If you are interested in becoming an associate there is opportunity available for those who have an understanding of business and referrals.

If you are looking into the company as a customer then you will see that the prices are slightly higher than some companies but there are more products available with a guarantee they are natural and safe for you and your family.

Forever Living makes a killing with aloe vera products

Forever Living Products is a multi-level marketing firm that sells a wide variety of health and wellness products that are made using aloe vera.

Rex Maughan founded the company in 1978 as a direct sales business selling aloe vera juice and lotions. The company has since expanded, owning several subsidiaries and having a presence in over 150 countries.

The sustained success of Forever Living over the course of nearly 40 years is a great indication of future success. The company has done nothing but grow and adapt throughout its history, making it a safe bet to continue to do so in the future.

Sign-Up Cost: None

Global Revenue: $2.5 billion

The Good: No sign up cost; products come from company-owned aloe farms; proper training provided for distributors; few complaints against company.

The Bad: Tax evasion accusations against founder; too much emphasis on recruitment; distributors cannot resell items on prominent websites.

Google Trends

Products

Forever Living has a wide range of products in the following categories:

  • Bee Products – All-natural bee honey, as well as supplements made from bee pollen.
  • Drinks – A wide selection of beverages, many of which contain aloe vera.
  • Essential Oils – Over half a dozen essential oils with different flavors and purposes.
  • Flawless by Sonia – A line of makeup and makeup accessories.
  • Nutrition – A substantial collection of vitamins and supplements that all promise various health benefits.
  • Personal Care – A collection of soaps, gels, bath salts, and other products aimed at improving hygiene.
  • Skin Care – More than two-dozen toners, creams, cleansers, and other products designed to improve skin health.
  • Weight Management – A collection of shakes, supplements, and accessories designed to help with weight loss.

Opportunity

Forever Living invites independent distributors to join the company and sell its products without any startup fee, although the company does offer a Business Owner Box for a cost of $283 that can help a distributor get his or her new business off the ground. Once they come on board, Forever Living distributors have 10 ways to make money:

  • Personal Bonus
  • Retail Profit
  • Novus Customer Bonus
  • Group Bonus
  • Team Leading Bonus
  • Royalty Bonus
  • Earned Incentives Bonus
  • Exotic Trips Bonus
  • Generous Travel and Special Promotions
  • Chairman’s Bonus

Each bonus and promotion is based on earning Case Credits, which are acquired based on products sold. One Case Credit is equivalent to roughly $145 worth of products at wholesale cost. New members are able to receive 15% off products to resell, but that amount starts to increase after achieving two Case Credits within the first two months of joining.

The Good

The lack of startup cost is one of the top perks of joining Forever Living. As mentioned above, earning two Case Credits within your first two months with the company leads to a significant increase in the discount you can receive off of a product’s retail price. However, this is an incentive, not a duty. Thus, the company motivates you as a distributor with a goal and a reward rather than forcing you to comply with a requirement or deadline. This helps to separate Forever Living from a lot of other multi-level marketing firms (1).

The company also does well to provide training to its new distributors to help them get on their feet. They have brochures that help to educate distributors on the company’s vast number of products, as well as training videos that teach sales techniques. The company has also been known to hold workshops for new distributors and connect new distributors with more experienced sellers. All of these training methods make it obvious that Forever Living wants its distributors to succeed, which can’t always be said of MLM companies.

It’s also interesting to mention that all of Forever Living’s products that contain aloe vera are produced on an aloe from farm the company owns. The company harvests the plants by hand and processes them quickly to ensure freshness. This adds authenticity to Forever Living’s product line, as the company is closely involved in the creation of its products, helping to ensure both safeness and quality.

The Bad

Among the black marks on Forever Living in its nearly 40 years in business is an accusation of tax evasion against Maughan levied by both the IRS and Japan’s National Tax Agency. The company countersued and ultimately won, but it’s still not one of Forever Living’s proudest achievements. Forever Living faced another lawsuit in 2007, being accused of copyright infringement for using the characters and storyline from a novel for its logo and marketing plan. The company ultimately changed its logo as part of a settlement.

In addition to legal problems, many have found issues with certain parts of Forever Living’s compensation plan and selling policies. The company does not allow distributors to resell items on prominent websites like Amazon or eBay at a discount. This can make it difficult to sell enough products to make a significant amount of money based on sales alone, even with a sizable client base. This puts a great deal of pressure on distributors to recruit others onto their team, which is how distributors will end up making most of their money with Forever Living. If distributors don’t have experience or training in marketing, constant recruitment of new members may prove difficult, limiting their earning potential. Moreover, unlike with sales techniques, the company doesn’t offer much training when it comes to marketing skills.

Recap

Forever Living Products is undoubtedly a top-notch company with a proven track record. They have a wide range of products and the company goes to great lengths to manufacture them the proper way. It’s simple and easy to join Forever Living as a distributor, and the company has received few complaints, helping it receive an A+ rating and full accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. The legal issues the company has faced, while not great, should not have an impact on a distributor’s experience selling Forever Living’s products.

However, the opportunity offered by Forever Living may not be conducive for those who are new to the multi-level marketing industry. While the company offers training on its products and proper sales techniques, most money will be made through recruitment, which requires distributors to have marketing skills. Without prior experience in multi-level marketing, specifically in recruitment, you may struggle to make a substantial amount of money through Forever Living. This is something to consider carefully before joining the company. Other than that one concrn, Forever Living should be considered one of the best multi-level marketing companies to join.

Nerium is probably the hottest skincare network marketing company

Nerium International is an American based company that specializes in an assortment of anti-aging products.

Launched in 2011 and based out of Addison, TX. they started out with a staff of only 13 and one product, an age defying night cream. By 2012, they were ranked #86 out of 100 by Direct Selling News. Their staff increased to 100 and they made $100 million in revenues.

One year later, their ranking moved up to #54, their staff grew to over 200 and they made $200 million in sales. Obviously, a company quickly on the rise.

Sign-Up Cost: $99.95 however you do not receive any products at this price, only marketing materials

Global Revenue: $403 million

The Good: Nerium’s success rate is staggering, considering that they have only been around for five years.

The Bad: The fact that they are such a young company, makes it hard to speculate how they will do in the future.

Google Trends:

Products

The people at Nerium focus on reversing the signs of aging in both women and men alike. Their products are unique, because not only do they concentrate on skin care, but they also offer supplements to help the mind stay youthful.

These products consist of:

  • Age-Defying Night Cream
  • Age-Defying Day Cream
  • Age-Defying Eye Serum
  • Firming Body Contour Cream
  • EHT Age-Defying Supplement

All of their products are plant-based and provide crucial anti-oxidants that boost cell renewal and skin hydration.

Opportunity

The People at Nerium want you to be in business for yourself, but they stress that you will not be working by yourself. They have a strong and supportive training program to help you realize your goals.

They have a relatively inexpensive start-up cost. There is no glass ceiling to worry about. You can work from anywhere, at anytime, whatever is most convenient for you.

Of course like all direct selling programs, the more people that you can get to participate, the more potential income you can earn. You can earn anywhere from $16-$60 a week as a bonus by getting people to sign up.

Once you get three or more customers to sign up, you don’t have to pay out of pocket for your own inventory.

By selling retail from your own personal inventory, you make a direct sales commission. This ranges from 10%-25% on all customer re-orders.

Once you have built a team, there are many incentives to keep you on track. Things like:

  • 10% Coaching Commissions
  • Team Commissions
  • Live Better Bonuses that can pay up to $50,000
  • Lexus Car Bonuses
  • Incentive Trips

All of these combine to help you live your life on your own terms, help others with their skin care needs and provide a sense of financial freedom. All from the comforts of your home.

The Good

I feel that one thing that anyone interested in joining the Nerium team should take into consideration, is their explosive growth in sales in such a relatively short period of time.

This success can really only be attributed to a few factors:

  • Superior Products
  • High Rate of Customer Satisfaction
  • Strong Marketing Strategies

Their products have been scientifically researched and proven in their effectiveness to fight the signs of aging.

Now, these products are a little on the pricey side in my opinion, it will set you back $270 for a combination of night cream, day cream and eye serum.

However, I found it very difficult to find any negative feedback on how well they worked, everyone seems to love them. This comes from both customers and affiliates alike.

Finally, obviously they know how to make their distributors achieve success when marketing their products. The numbers don’t lie and the $403 million in world-wide sales mentioned earlier was from 2014. I’m pretty sure it has continued to climb.

The Bad

Nerium uses a substance called Oleander, this is highly toxic and bad for your skin. The reason that the fine lines and wrinkles disappear is because it causes inflammation and puffiness which makes the skin look and feel fuller.(1)

This being said, if you use the Nerium products as directed, you shouldn’t experience any uncomfortable side effects.

The only other thing that may be a little cause for concern is the relative inexperience of the organization in general. Five years is not a great deal of time when it comes to forecasting the stability of a business.

Recap

Nerium seems to be a legitimate business for people to get involved in. If you have decided that you would like to try working from home an being your own boss, this might be just what you’ve been looking for.

They have an excellent compensation plan and have paid over $100 million in commissions already, this is awesome.

If you check out their official website, you will see that is both very informative and easy to navigate through. This is a nice change up compared to many other MLM sites that are vague, confusing and basically useless.

This being said however, don’t believe that you will get rich overnight. Like most things in life, the success you achieve is relevant to the amount of work you put into it.

If you have been trying out different MLM opportunities without getting the results you want, maybe it’s not the company, it’s you. By the way, did you know that only 5% of people that attempt these types of ventures have had success?

The fact that you are taking the time to read this review and others like it is great. This is much better than blindly jumping into something without doing the proper amount of research first.

But if you think you have what it takes to work independently and get others to follow suit, I believe there is a valid opportunity by working with the folks at Nerium International.

It all comes down to what it is you are trying to accomplish. Are you looking to retire early, or are you just trying to make a little extra cash? Either way, out of all of the MLMs that I have done, this one would have to rank in the top 10.

Global Virtual Opportunities changes MLM game, offers web hosting product

Global Virtual Opportunities (GVO) is a web hosting company that offers folks who hold a re-seller account commission on new accounts they bring in.

Joel Therien started his company in Canada and now operates out of San Antonio, Texas.

Annual revenue figures aren’t available, but since the company started more than ten years ago, and successfully managed an international move, it appears to be fairly stable. The company has a B+ rating (on a scale of A+ to F) from the Better Business Bureau.(1)

Signup cost: $44.94 per month, ongoing

The good: Turnkey operation makes getting started virtually instantaneous.

The bad: Re-selling requires opening – and keeping open – a Titanium level account.

Google Trends

Products

Folks who sign up as affiliates with GVO can re-sell hosting accounts to earn commission and bonuses. GVO offers three hosting plans:

  • Personal Web Hosting: $5.56/mo when paid for one full year; includes 1 domain and cPanel
  • Business Web Hosting: $7.96/mo when paid for one full year; includes 10 domains and cPanels
  • Enterprise Web Hosting: $11.96/mo when paid for one full year; includes 20 domains and cPanels

All of these hosting plans include unlimited disk space and bandwidth. Users also get site building and marketing tools, unlimited subdomains, email and FTP accounts, and MySQL databases. Hosting plans also offer autoresponders. The Personal Web Hosting account does not offer add-on or parked domains.

When users purchase a hosting plan, they get access to a broad variety of tools and functions that have one-click installation, like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, phpBB, MediaWiki and BuddyPress. Also, hosting packages include one-click installations of PHP 5, PHP MyAdmin, Cron, Curl, Perl, CGI, SSI, Frontpage, Awstats, Webalizer, and Log Manager. No plans offer Ruby on Rails or SSH.

Marketing tools available to hosting clients include Blogger Builder, and the company’s own eResponder pro, GVO Conference, and Easy Video Producer. eResponder pro can handle up to 10,000 subscribers; users can write, send and track results of mailings; GVO’s website copy says they “welcome responsible bulk emailing” to double opt-in contact lists. GVO Conference offers web conference capabilities, and Easy Video Producer makes video production and streaming possible.

Re-sellers only have access to WebHostManager (WHM) and specialized Internet marketing tools beyond what comes with the standard hosting packages, including a prospecting system and banners.

Opportunity

Titanium hosting plan holders can sign up for GVO’s affiliate program; this hosting plan is $44.95 per month. Commissions are earned on new paid sales. Affiliates earn 50% commission in their first month.

GVO also has a bonus program. Affiliates who bring in five new paid accounts in a calendar week earn $100. Those who bring in higher volumes can earn higher bonuses; bringing in 100 new clients nets a $500 bonus.

If an affiliate brings in an account-holder who also becomes a re-seller, that affiliate can earn an additional bonus of 20% commissions on downline sales. An affiliate who brings in two re-sellers can pick up 5% commission six levels of downline sales; bringing in four re-sellers means picking up ten levels of downline sales.

The Good

This is a turnkey operation with no investment beyond committing to a hosting plan. Affiliates who re-sell hosting packages are at liberty to develop their own hosting packages and set their own rates. Each person who buys a re-sold hosting plan gets their own cPanel for backend site building and maintenance, and GVO handles all tech support, so there’s very little direct involvement between the affiliate and his or her clients once the hosting plan is sold and paid for.

The Bad

There’s no policy and procedures manual online, nor is there any kind of contract language mentioned. It’s unclear how often commissions are paid, and in what format (Do they send a check? Are payments made electronically?). It’s also unclear how affiliates communicate with GVO as far as keeping track of sales, how disputes are resolved, etc.

Recap

Global Virtual Opportunities makes re-seller hosting available to Titanium package-holders, who pay $44.95 per month for their own service. These affiliates get a commission based on the paid hosting package sales they bring in, and bonuses based on volume. If these paid sales pick up-reseller accounts, then affiliates earn commissions on downline sales.

Affiliates without a strong Internet background may find special challenges in soliciting new customers from whom they can earn a commission. Affiliates are also reliant on GVO for their customers’ tech help and infrastructure – if something goes horribly awry, the affiliate is at the mercy of GVO just as much as his or her clients.

On the other hand, GVO’s infrastructure is its own; there is no middle man between the affiliate and GVO – GVO is materially invested in the business, so there’s no reason to believe they are not completely committed to providing quality tech support and maintaining the hardware that makes it all work.

There are no meetings or conference calls for affiliates to attend, no inventory to carry, equipment to maintain, or quotas to make. Joining GVO seems pretty painless and relatively easy as as far as the company’s expectations of its affiliates.

For the right account-holder, one who’s really Internet-savvy and already has (or has strong plans for) a viable online presence that includes strong marketing practices, this could be a relatively passive way to earn a few extra bucks.

Lifevantage is not just another supplement MLM from Utah

LifeVantage is an MLM direct selling company that manufactures and distributes nutritional supplements, specializing in Nrf2 science.

LifeVantage manufactures, markets, distributes and manages the sales.

The company began with a retail model in 2003 but switched over to a direct sales and multi-level marketing model in 2009. The President and CEO is David Brown, former CEO of Metabolife. The company headquarters is based in Sandy, Utah.

Sign-up Cost: $50

Global Revenue: $214 Million

The Good: There are currently 6 different bonuses for independent distributors. The company offers interactive training modules with a personalized learning experience.

The Bad: In 2012 there was a recall on Protandim products. Before the company switched over from the retail model to the direct sales model it had 2 different lawsuits filed against them.

Google Trends:

Products

LifeVantage provides nutritional supplements that promote healthy living. Currently there are only 8 items available to purchase. The company’s main product Protandim was developed by Dr. Joe McCord, who was awarded the Elliot Cresson Medal from The Franklin Institute.

Protandim is a Nrf2 synergizer that has been validated by peer-reviewed studies conducted at some of the countries most respected research institutions.

Axio is a brain performance product that provides long-lasting energy without the dreaded crash and burn.

Axio comes in regular and decaf, although it is not coffee. 1 box contains 20 packets of either the regular, which is Green Grape flavored or the decaf that comes in Red Raspberry. All you have to do is add the contents of the pouches to water and drink. The ingredients provide long-lasting power, heightened concentration and sharper focus.

PhysIQ contains four items: Cleanse, Probio, Fat Burn and Protein Shake. You can purchase these items separately or together in the system pack. All of these supplements are designed to aid in weight management.

True Science is Life Vantages skin care system. They produce an Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser, Lotion, Eye Corrector Serum, Micro-lift Serum and Anti-Aging Cream.

The last item on the list is Canine Health. 30 chewable tablets specifically formulated to reduce oxidative stress using the same Nrf2 activation as Protandim. Canine Health also supports canine joint function, flexibility and mobility.

Customers are offered a 20% off discount if they sign up for the auto ship program. Products can only be purchased by distributors or by distributor referrals, which can make them hard to come by. There is no product pricing available on the official site.

Opportunity

The LifeVantage Compensation Plan is designed to help independent distributors start up their business, provides a quick return on investments and allows you to earn long-term residual income. There are currently 6 different bonuses that are paid, both, weekly and monthly. The company also provides business training to help distributors understand the company, products and how to establish a strong foundation.

The Good

Not only can distributors generate an income through commission and bonuses, but LifeVantage provides interactive training modules through the virtual Vantage University. Distributors receive hands on training through sponsors and company hosted events and conventions.Preferred customers receive a 20% off discount on product purchases by enrolling in the auto-ship program.

The company has an excellent reputation for paying its distributors on time and according to the commission structure. Life vantage currently has a B- rating with the Better Business Bureau and a 3 star rating with Glass Door, which you can read here, (1)

The company’s products have been tested and scientifically proven to work. The items have been tested at several different universities and institutes. The scientist that works with the company has received an outstanding award for his work. LifeVantage has been operating for over a decade.

The Bad

Before LifeVantage switched from the retail model over to the direct selling model the company had a lawsuit filed against them from a competitor company Zrii.

LifeVantage had to pay $400,000 to Zrii. Zrii filed the lawsuit claiming that LifeVantage had conspired with its executives in order to take over the company, if they couldn’t take it over they said they would ruin it. CEO David Brown never admitted to any interference but was still required to pay up.

A separate lawsuit was filed by a former distributor Burke Hedges for breaching the payment contract, which resulted in the company owing Hedges $350,000. There has been one recall on the product Protandim for the possible contamination of small metal fragments, which was later resolved.

Recap

LifeVantage is an MLM nutritional company that originally started out using the retail sales model. The products are designed to support and improve overall health in humans and canines. The company currently has a good rating with the Better Business Bureau although it is not accredited.

LifeVantage offers a 30 day refund on all unopened products. The product pricing cannot be found on the official website, however it can be found elsewhere. The products can only be purchased by distributors or through a distributors referral, which can make the items hard to find.

Even though there are 6 different bonuses independent distributors can earn, the average commission tends to be on the low end. Distributors must maintain a PV of 100 or more in order to remain an active member. If your PV is down for too long you will be terminated.

There has been two lawsuits filed against the company and in both cases the company lost the fight, resulting in a total of $750,000 being paid out by the company to both parties combined. In 2012 the company had to recall their Protandim product due to traces of metal fragments which was later resolved. There have been no other legal or recall incidents to date.

The company has been in the business for over a decade and continues to generate an annual global revenue of over $200 Million.

The outlook of the company seems to be positive. But, they gotta compete against the masses – probably a good 100 other supplement network marketing companies out there.

Nu Skin is probably the most trusted MLM

Nu Skin Enterprises is a multi level marketing company that has peddled skin care products since 1984.

They sell products under the brand name of Pharmanex.

Despite several investigations by the Federal Trade Commissions during the 1990s for false advertisement and lying about income generated by its distributors, they were still listed as one of “100 Most Trusted U.S. Companies” by Forbes in 2010.

Sign-Up Cost:$89.00

Global Revenue: 2.25 billion

The Good: Nu Skin has been in operation for over 30 years and as of 2014 they had 5,000 employees. They also claim that they pay roughly 43% of their sales profits back into commissions for their distributors.

The Bad: Around 25 years ago, Nu Skin had charges filed against them by six different states. Allegations of misleading advertising,  falsifying distributor income reports and running a pyramid scheme were just some of the charges.

Google Trends

Products

All of their skin care products are under the Nu Skin Brand, these include:

  • Moisturizers
  • Essential Oils
  • Anti-Aging Creams
  • Facial Spas

All of their nutritional supplement products are branded under the name Pharmanex. They have the usual assortment of vitamins, weight loss powders, energy boosters and capsules designed to help the heart, brain, digestive system etc.

In addition to these products, they carry what they call a BioPhotonic Scanner. This measures the carotenoid levels in your tissues. This in turn gives you an indication of what your antioxidant levels are.

They also have a brand called AgeLOC Youth. This has a wide variety of pills and creams designed to reverse the signs of aging, and help you continue to live life in a youthful stage.

Opportunity

Nu Skin Enterprises offers its distributors the chance to make money selling the before mentioned products from the comforts of home at your own schedule.

Once you enroll with Nu Skin, you simply share your story and their products with others and receive a direct commission on all sales that you generate.

By getting others to become distributors, you can rise to the role of an Executive Leader. The more people you have working under your chain, the more money you make.

You can learn how to teach others to become Executives and win opportunities to go on special trips all around the world.

You can up to 25% on all retail sales and 5% on everyones sales within your level. This is generated on a monthly basis.

It really boils down to what your goals are and what you are prepared to do to reach them. The more people you can get to sign up, the more your potential earnings are increased.

The Good

The compensation plan is pretty good at up to a 25% commission. The company has been around a long time and generated a lot of revenue through the years.

Because of their extended history, many people have at least heard of them, even if they aren’t completely familiar with their products.

Nutritional supplements are extremely popular in today’s markets, the same holds true for anything claiming to be beneficial in anti-aging properties.

Because of this fact, it seems like these types of products are fairly easy to market and make a little extra money while working from home.

Nu Skin seems to have a strong and supportive training program and continues to aid and assist their distributors through all the facets of marketing their assorted products

The Bad

Even though Forbes feels they can be trusted, the fact that there were so many allegations over shady business practices in the past is still something to take into consideration if thinking of joining this company.

They have paid millions of dollars out of court to make these allegations go away and just two years ago, the Chinese government accused them of the illegal pyramid charges. Of course, the CEO M. Truman Hunt denied all wrong doings. (1)

After being tested by ConsumerLab.com Pharmenex’s Anti-Aging Pack failed, because it didn’t clearly give the actual amount of vitamin A levels within it.

Their BioPhotonic Scanner was pretty much designed to keep people buying their supplements, which by the  way are ridiculously overpriced in comparison to other nutritional supplement companies that are out there.

Recap

In my opinion, anyone who is thinking of joining a MLM company in the attempts to generate money from home, would be well advised to stay away from Nu Skin Enterprises.

Yes, they have been around for over 30 years. Yes they have generated a considerable amount of revenue in this time frame. Yes, they have over 5,000 employees globally.

However, the repeated accusations of illegal business practices throughout the years should raise a red flag for anyone contemplating joining this team.

Their products prices are inflated considerably. $180 for some supplements that haven’t even been proven effective? I don’t think so.

That BioPhotonic Scanner is a definite scam as well. It’s based on different light frequencies that are supposed to measure your anti-oxidant levels.

You submit the report back to them and they tell you what nutrients you should be taking. Guess what? They will definitely have something to sell you.

When researching other reviews on Nu Skin, I was hard pressed to find any favorable reviews. In fact, most of them were extremely negative and I can see why.

Though they claim that up to 43% of their profits go back to the distributors, there are too many other unsubstantiated claims on record for me to fully believe this.

There are hundreds, if not thousand of MLM companies to choose from these days, most of them are bogus. Take the time and do some research for yourself.

Think about what it is you are trying to achieve and who you feel comfortable about representing.

I think after doing some research on Nu Skin, trying to get through the confusing explanations of their commission packages, reading about all of the allegations, and seeing all of the other negative reviews about this company from customers and employees alike; you too will agree that there are much better options for a person wishing to start up their own, home-based business.

NuCerity is quietly becoming a skin care network marketing giant

NuCerity is a U.S. based dermatology company founded in 2009 out of Houston, Texas.

NuCerity is currently operating out of more than 16 countries and has anywhere from 27,000-32,000 distributors marketing their product line for them. Their most recognizable product is the Skincerity Nightly Breathable Masque.

Sign-Up Cost: $59.00

Global Revenue: Unknown

The Good: For just $59, a distributor receives unlimited access to the team offices for a whole year.

The Bad: You need the ID number of a previously enrolled sponsor before you can sign up to be an Independent Distributor, or even purchase a product on line.

Google Trends:

Products

Skincerity is this company’s main brand. It is considered a cosmetic and they claim it will do the following:

  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles, enlarged pores and wrinkles
  • Provides a continual source of antioxidants to help fight against sun damage
  • Reduces the appearance of facial redness, won’t clog your pores
  • Re-hydrates your skin naturally
  • Revitalizes damaged, parched skin
  • Helps shed dull skin cells
  • Use it on your face, neck, hands and chest to aid in slowing down the effects of premature aging
  • Deep cleans upon application and dries in seconds

They have a Peptide Plus Moisturizer, an Eye Serum, a Hydrating Serum for both skin and hair, an Exfoliator, and a product that is supposed activate the production of collagen as well.

It also contains solvents like acetone, and the main ingredient in non-stick cooking pans. (1)

Opportunity

NuCerity International offers its affiliates the opportunity to work from within the comforts of your home allowing for a flexible schedule and unlimited earning potential.

There are basically 10 ways to make money by joining up with Nucerity:

  • Retail Profit
  • Preferred Customer Profits
  • First Order Bonus
  • Fast Start Duplication Bonus
  • Team Volume Bonus
  • Team Matching Bonus
  • Beautiful Life Bonus
  • Rank Advancement Bonus
  • Diamond Pool
  • Diamond Loyalty Bonus

Of course, as with any other MLM operation, there is a disclaimer at the bottom of their page stating that NuCerity does not promise any kind of income or rewards.

The Good

As a distributor, you will be able to purchase products at wholesale prices and redistribute them to consumers at retail prices. When the consumer enrolls in their Preferred Customer Program that allows the distributor to get paid a residual income on a monthly basis.

You also get paid on a weekly basis depending on how much volume your team does. The maximum amount of money you can make in a week is $10,000. They pay out bonus commissions on a bi-weekly basis.

Skincerity has been tested and approved by a dermatologist board. A majority of their users have reported an improvement in skin conditions like acne, wrinkles, red skin and insect bites.

Nucerity also has an excellent reputation with the Better Business Bureau, there have only been two complaints filed with them in the last three years.

The Bad

If you go to the official NuCerity website you will probably get confused and discouraged at the same time. You can’t join up or even place an order without having a sponsor. They don’t even list the prices for the products offered.

To join as an Independent Distributor won’t break the bank. However, if you order the four pack products it can cost you anywhere from $180-$800. In my opinion that is a bit steep for someone who is just starting out on a home-based business venture.

Just to join up in their Auto Ship program will cost you $120. Many of the other companies that offer similar services, do so for free.

If you are a distributor for this company you can expect to make around $20 per sale. This is much lower that many of the other MLM opportunities that are present in today’s world.

In order to get the monthly bonuses, you have to recruit four repeat customers a month. I feel this could prove to be difficult considering a potential customer can’t even get a price on a product that he or she may be interested in.

When doing further research, I discovered that many people felt that the prices charged for these products were more than what the average household could afford on a monthly basis.

Apparently the training program and later mentoring program left a lot to be desired as well.

On top of all this, apparently distributors have to meet a strict list of criteria to first join the team, and then be eligible for weekly and monthly bonuses.

Recap

Before you decide to invest your hard earned money into a company like NuCerity I encourage you to keep researching them. In my opinion, I feel there are many other companies that could prove to be much more lucrative in the long run.

Nothing about this organization impressed me. The point that I couldn’t even find what they have made in global revenues caused me a little concern. Usually these numbers are pretty easy to find.

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of MLMs out there and many of them are in skin care and health and wellness due to the recent publics interest in them.

People are living longer these days and we are getting older as a population in general. Millions of dollars are spent by consumers each year around the world, but most of it is wasted money.

You have to ask yourself four questions before you join a direct selling organization:

  • What are my goals?
  • How much am I prepared to do to reach them?
  • Is this a company that I can be proud of to represent them?
  • Will this make me money?

Only five percent of the people that attempt to make money from a home based business actually succeed in doing so. Of course there will have to be some trial and error at the beginning, but if you choose your options wisely by doing the research, your odds of becoming one of these 5% are greatly increased.

NuCerity is not worth the time, effort and money to be a viable source of sustainable income. There are many other options to choose from and I strongly suggest that you look into them.

The company offers, the well known, rank achievement bonus, as well as, a car bonus. With all of the possibilities to advance and grow distributors can truly make a name for themselves while they make a living.

The Good

The company’s products are scientifically backed and FDA approved. As the amount of people who are becoming health conscious so does the desire to purchase products that are organically and naturally manufactured.

The company is currently generating an annual global revenue of $10 Million dollars. ID Life’s product list has drastically increased in only two years with new products coming out frequently.

The Bad

ID Life is still fresh on the scene, not yet reaching the 5 year mark. The company does have many good products and decent pricing but it also has many competitors in the field, many that are still standing strong after 20 years of successful business. It is difficult to find any reviews on the company, which may be because it is still new. The company profile is locked and can only be accessed by company employees on the Glass Door website, which is strange.

Enagic is easily the hottest water filter network marketing company

Enagic manufactures alkaline ionizers and water filtration systems to produce Kangen water.

Enagic started up in 1974 in Okinawa, Japan. They became Enagic USA in 2004 and became an international company. The president and CEO of the company is a man named Hironari Oshiro. He started out owning an exclusive Sony dealership, but in 1988 he changed the name to Enagic Co, Ltd.

Sign-Up Costs: $4,000

Global Revenue: As of 2010, over $230 million annually

The Good: Enagic has been a successful company for over four decades. Their approach to water filtration systems have helped thousands of people around the world.

The Bad: There is no substantiated proof that the systems offered by Enagic USA actually provide any of the health benefits that they claim.

Google Trends:

Products

There are seven different water filtration models to choose from.  All but one can produce five different types of alkaline Kangen water. Here is the quick run down from high to low with the prices provided:

  • The Super SD 501- Costs $5,980
  • SD 501- Price, $3,980
  • Leveluk DX2- $3,280
  • Leveluk DX- $2,980
  • The Anespa- $2,390
  • Leveluk Junior II- $2,380
  • The Sun U.S.- $1,280

These filtration systems are claimed to raise the body’s PH levels from 8.5 to 9.5 and this is an apparently better place to be. An alkaline state is better than an acidic state, but I couldn’t find why one machine was better than the next just because of the price tag fixed upon it.

Opportunity

Enagic USA is a direct selling organization. You can work from within the comforts of your home, set your own schedule and decide what your own personal financial goals are and attempt to reach them. You’re the boss.

To get started, you have to purchase one of their purification systems for around $4,000. You then use it and promote all of the health benefits that this ionizer has for you and your family.

For every two systems that you sell, you will get paid $285. When you recruit eight other people to join your team, your profits will increase.

However, in order for these profit margins to increase, you must reach their Leadership position.

This is a uni-level operation, this means you have to recruit a lot of people to generate revenue however.

The Good

In today’s hectic hustle and bustle society, it is not uncommon for the average person’s body to get into an acidic state. Enagic USA’s products are designed to bring the body back to a healthier balance.(1)

They have been around for over 40 years and are well represented in many countries around the world.

Their annual sales revenue numbers are impressive as of six years ago, and I imagine they will continue to climb as people are becoming more health conscious as a population.

The Bad

The products that Enagic USA Ltd. offer are very expensive in my opinion. There are comparable water filtration/ionization companies that provide the same services at half the price.

Since this is a direct sales company, you might have to literally walk door to door in order to sell this type of product. This may prove to be quite difficult.

You don’t get any kind of discount on your first purchase as a distributor. Also, there is only a five year limited warranty on these machines, if something goes wrong, you are on your own basically.

On top of that, there is only a 15 day return policy. 15 days is not enough time for an individual to decide if the health benefits claimed to be provided by these systems are actually true.

Recap

If you are looking into starting your own home-based business, I would not recommend getting involved with Enagic USA.

Their products are extremely overpriced with no scientific proof that they will do what they say.

Though they say that they are a direct selling organization, they are no different than any other MLM company, because you need to recruit a lot of people in order to generate any real income.

The start up cost in my opinion is ridiculous. $4,000 to buy your first machine, with no discount. Most people that I know don’t have this kind of money to invest in a start-up project.

How do you market it? Walk around the neigborhood and offer people a glass of water that is supposed to provide all of these wonderful health benefits? Good luck with that.

I saw company claims where by using these systems have alleviated everything from diabetes, obesity, menopausal complications, to breast cancer, BS.

You have to be a very confident and successful salesperson to make any money with this organization. Do you really think you have what it takes to sell a product that starts at $1,280 to a friend, family member, co-worker, or complete stranger?

What you really have to ask yourself when you are thinking about starting your own home-based business is this:

  • Is this something I feel comfortable about doing?
  • Is there a big enough market out there for me to succeed?
  • What is it I am trying to achieve, in the sense of goals?

I feel that there are many other business opportunities available from which to choose from in today’s world. However, I strongly encourage you to continue to do your own research before you jump right into things.

If you go to the Enagic USA website, you will find a ton of information, but none of it is particularly useful. If you check out other reviews on this company, you will find that most of them are negative and this comes from employees and customers alike.

Granted, they have been around for a long time, so they must be doing something right, but I genuinely feel that there are better ways to make some extra money, than trying to sell water purification systems at such an inflated price to both you and your potential customers.

If you are thinking about becoming involved with a MLM operation, there are many more lucrative choices to choose from.

Sunrider stays in the game with quality herbal products

In addition to quality herbal products for health and beauty, the Sunrider name is now also attached to a hotel group called Sunworld Dynasty Group.

Dr. Tei-Fu Chen started the company in Utah and it has since expanded to a worldwide company.

Many awards decorate Dr. Tei-Fu Chen including an honorable mention as one of the top 25 notable Chinese-Americans by Forbes Asia.(1)

Sign-up cost: $200

Global Revenue: $700 million

The good: Sunrider International has a huge product line that reaches a wide audience – they’re one of the bigger herbal product multi level marketing companies.

The bad: Their products are over-priced for the average consumer and tend to be a hard sell for the distributor.

Google Trends

Products

Sunrider manufactures products that can be categorized into these product lines:

  • Herbal Food and Drinks
  • Herbal Concentrates
  • Weight Management & Active Lifestyle
  • Supplements
  • Skin Care
  • Cosmetics
  • Home Cleaning Products

The herbal food and drinks include the Fortune Delight and Calli which are teas, the Sunbar, Vitashake, and NuPlus are among a few others that are said to be good for naturally cleansing your system of toxins.

Some potent, concentrated herbal concoctions that the company sells include Veros, Bella, Sunrise, and Quinary. These concentrates are said to balance out your body if used regularly.

The weight management & active lifestyle formulas are another product line that promises results. In the line, you will find a “metabolism booster”, capsules for the sport enthusiast, and multi vitamins. These all come with a claim to help individuals regulate their weight and enhance their athletic performances.

The line of skin care items is extensive and covers every skin ailment under the sun. You will find beauty bars, eye creams, brightening serums, facial toners, and lifting cream as well as shampoo. These products are said to give you that spa-like experience and make you beautiful.

Cosmetics is a massive industry in the current market. Everyone wants perfect skin and if they don’t naturally have it, they turn to cosmetics for that refined look. Sunrider International makes more than 10% of their net income from the Color Cosmetics products each year. Between the foundation, blush, lip enhancements, and nail care, these products are highly sought after by consumers of Sunrider International.

With such successful products for your body, Sunrider International advanced into another appealing category for many consumers-household cleaning products. This product line includes laundry detergent, dish detergent, bleach, and even a vegetable wash that is entirely safe for consumers.

There is an ingredient list on the website with an educational explanation of the health advantages offered by key nutrients such as Carnitine, Cocoa Bean, Green Coffee Bean, and Arginine.

Over 415 products are offered by Sunrider International, all with the natural label to keep you and your family safe from toxins.

Opportunity

Sunrider International is a manufacturer of health, beauty, and household cleaning products. The opportunity lies in the distribution of these products. You can grow your distributions and sales commissions depending on how much time and energy you can devote to it. With this particular MLM company, you have such a wide range of products that it is much easier to find target audiences that are interested. Most MLM companies do not manufacture 100 types of products let alone 400. This will work to your advantage as a distributor.

The Good

With roughly 34 years of history, Sunrider International clearly has products that sell and are wanted by the consumer. Although we are not entirely cued in to what the ingredients are in the products, the labels say natural, appealing to many green consumers.

The founder of the company has a drive for the products he manufactures and he puts research and development to good use in the making of them.

The company has been issued many awards over the years including the BrandLaureate Award in 2010 and 2011, the HuaZun Awards in 2010 as well as the 2010 Asian Entrepreneur of the Year Overall Winner Award. The company also received the Silver Award from the Agri-Food and Vetrinary Authority.

In addition, the company makes philanthropic contributions to education, disaster relief, and health care around the world.

The Bad

The red flag for most consumers is that Sunrider International is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau because it cannot conform to their regulations. The company has a tough time in particular with resolution of customer concerns, conformance to government laws and regulations, and explanation of practices used within the business.

Another suspicious past time is Sunrider’s run in with the federal government in 1995. The company was indicted on charges of tax evasion in the amount of $38 million owed to the government. In 1997 they were convicted of these crimes and the owner was sentenced to prison.

The startup fees are outrageously high in comparison to other MLM companies, making it a tough financial leap for some to afford.

Although there is no BBB rating for Sunrider but there is a Glassdoor rating of 2.3 out of 5 stars. This is not necessarily great considering most MLM companies have a significantly higher rating on Glassdoor. A mere 25% of employees would suggest working for Sunrider to a friend and only 37% of employees approve of the CEO, Tei-Fun Chen. These could account for the low rating.

Recap

Sunrider International produces a hefty amount of health, beauty, and house cleaning products on a worldwide level. The products are labeled as natural, appealing to the growing number of green consumers. The company has been successfully in business for roughly 34 years. They are not accredited with the BBB and have had a run in with the law in terms of tax evasion.

The owner and CEO Tei-Fun Chen is invested in the health and well being of people around the world. This is reflected not only in his products but also in his generous donations to UNICEF and other philanthropic groups.

Forever Green (FG Xpress) is more than ‘pain patch’ MLM

Forever Green is a multi-level marketing company that sells products related to nutrition and weight management.

Ron Williams, a veteran of the multi-level marketing industry, founded in the company in 2004 and has built it into a company that has over 50 employees and over 50,000 independent distributors worldwide.

After taking a few years to get off the ground, Forever Green has grown into a successful, multi-national company. A bright future isn’t a certainty, but there are reasons to believe the company will remain profitable for many years to come.

Sign-Up Cost: $999.95

Global Revenue: $10 – 25 million

The Good: Distributors set their own prices; award-winning company; healthy and organic products.

The Bad: Expensive sigh-up cost; mandatory auto-shipping; limited training offered; products not FDA approved.

The Forever Green website lists 12 products across four different brands that fill a variety of needs:

  • AIM – A dietary supplement that can improve metabolism.
  • PULSE-8 – A dietary supplement designed to improve blood blow and cardiovascular health.
  • RETROME – A dietary supplement that supports cell regeneration.

Opportunity

Forever Green gives its consumers the opportunity to join the company as a distributor. New distributors are required to purchase an “All-In” starter pack for $999.95. After joining, distributors must have a monthly auto-ship order of at least $170.

The full compensation plan from Forever Green is a bit complicated, but there are five distinct ways distributors can make money in addition to selling products:

  • FastStart Bonus – Bonus for enrolling a new member, giving you a portion of their initial orders.
  • X-Tribe Bonus – A bonus big enough for you and your team members to purchase your order for the following month.
  • Team Bonus – Bonus based on the growth and success of your team.
  • Matching Bonus – Bonus for having your team members grow their own team.
  • Rank Advancement Cash Bonus – Bonus for reaching a new rank within the company.

The Good

One of the biggest advantages of being a distributor with Forever Green is that the company allows you to set your own prices on the products you sell. The company doesn’t even suggest a retail price; they simply sell the products to distributors at a wholesale price and allow the distributors to take it from there. This allows you to decide how much retail commission you want to make off of each product using whatever criteria you see fit. This affords you the opportunity to haggle and negotiate with customers on prices, allowing you to lower prices for someone on a budget. This flexibility gives you more control over how much you can make from product sales.

Forever Green also brings a unique line of products to the market. Many of their products are produced by photosynthesizing Marine Phytoplankton, which is a microscopic organism that’s found on the top layer of most natural bodies of water. There are a lot of health and wellness companies in the multi-level marketing industry, but few use Marine Phytoplankton as the base of their products. If nothing else, this helps to set Forever Green apart from the competition.

Finally, Forever Green is an award-winning company, for what that’s worth. In 2015, they won the Direct Selling Management Association Growth Award, which is a big deal in the MLM industry. The company has also received a high rating from the Better Business Bureau, as it has done well to resolve the few complaints it has received.

The Bad

While the freedom to set your own prices and the bonus programs Forever Green has are quite enticing for distributors, the startup fee is not. The “All-In” starter pack required by the company for new distributors is $999.95, an astronomical fee compared to the sign-up cost of nearly any other multi-level marketing company. Such a high fee is almost incomprehensible, and the prospect of being $1,000 in debt right off the bat is far too risky for most people. On top of that, new distributors are required to have a monthly auto-ship order of at least $170. Even without the sign-up fee, that’s a substantial amount for a monthly auto-ship quota, only adding to the high amount of risk Forever Green distributors take on upon joining.

There’s also no indication that the company offers any type of sales or marketing training to its members. After paying such a high startup fee, one would assume the company would go to great lengths to ensure its distributors have the training and the skills to succeed, but there’s no evidence that’s the case. Without previous experience with MLM or substantial training, the chances of succeeding with a company like Forever Green are minimal.

Finally, there is a potential issue with the company’s products. While they may be unique, there doesn’t appear to be any definitive evidence that Forever Green products are approved by the FDA, although the company claims they are. The science behind Marine Phytoplankton is also lacking in definitive proof, so there’s no way of ensuring that any or all of the products actually produce the health and wellness benefits the company says they do.

Recap

For the right person, Forever Green is an incredible opportunity. The freedom to set your own retail prices combined with the bonus programs the company offers can set someone up for a massive payday and plenty of financial security. In addition, the company has been in business long enough and received enough positive recognition that one should not fear getting involved with Forever Green.

However, the financial commitment required to become a member is astoundingly high, and after signing up there’s nothing to keep you afloat except your own skills.

If you have money to spare and expert-level skills in sales and marketing and you’re looking for a high risk-high reward venture, Forever Green may be the perfect opportunity. Otherwise, this is a company to avoid; it’s definitely not for anyone who’s new to multi-level marketing or looking for a part-time gig. This company is for people looking to go all-in on something.
